Hannah Barnes, Mountain biker

Arrianne Aukes, Windsurfer
Dutch windsurfer Arrianne Aukes has been into yoga for a number of years. In fact, she is so into it that she is running a yoga and windsurfing camp in Bonaire.
Talking about how yoga helps her perform better on the board, she said: ‘I started doing yoga because I felt it really helped me. It improves my strength, flexibility and helped me focus more and you can do it whenever and wherever you are. I love doing all kinds of sports, but for me yoga is more of a challenge than doing difficult exercises in the gym.’
She goes on to add: ‘When I first started competing I was always out of breath within a few minutes during my heats even although I was in very good shape. Yoga made me focus more on my breathing. Doing yoga makes me more flexible’.
Kendrick Louis, Ironman triathlete
Kendrick Louis says pilates has helped him to reach the top spot in the Ironman series. And that is not an easy place to get to.
Talking about the discipline, he says: ‘At first I didn’t think pilates was for blokes. I started doing a bit more research and I noticed a lot of top-level athletes like LeBron James and Cristiano Ronaldo lived by pilates… It is one of those things that you don’t know how good it is until you actually do it.’
