Now that Christmas is over and 2013 is underway, it’s the perfect time to start planning all of the adrenaline packed adventure sports you’ll be undertaking in the New Year. First on your list should be the Outdoors Show 2013.
Whether you’ll be throwing yourself out of a plane, hurtling down a snowy mountainside or trekking through the Himalayas, the only place to go to find out what’s going to be hot and what’s not in 2013 is The Outdoors Show 2013 at London’s ExCel centre.
Sharing the 100-acre site with three other attraction-packed exhibitions (for which your ticket is also valid) and featuring everything from climbing to bush craft and mountain biking to wine tasting, there’ll be more than enough to keep you occupied and get your adventure sports imagination working in overdrive.
Well-known brands pack the site, showing off all of their latest innovations and the coolest new gear on the market. You can even have a go at slacklining, the ultimate test of balance, or head over to the Climbing Village to test out your upper body strength.
Elsewhere at the centre, an incredible photography exhibition marks the 60th anniversary of the conquering of Everest. Other exhibitions feature the best photos from the Outdoor photographer of the Year awards, as well as the National Geographic Traveller photography awards.
In the newly introduced Outdoor Photography Photobox there will be talks from famous outdoor photographers giving tips on how you can improve your technique. Pay careful enough attention and maybe next year you’ll be able to see your own photograph on display.
If you’re looking to turn your passion for the outdoors into a full-time occupation, The Careers Zone offers a wealth of information on how to make your dream a reality. Meet people already working in the field and get the most up-to-date information and advice on jobs and training.
So don’t let the January blues get you down, head down to London’s docklands and get fired-up for the New Year and new adventures.
