If you’re not familiar with Eskrima, check out the film Enter the Dragon, where Bruce Lee uses the style. It was Lee’s adoption of FMA that first brought it to international attention. Since then, people have been coming to the Philippines from all over the world to learn from the best.

FMA was an obvious choice for Rising Dragon, given its whole life philosophy and exciting fighting styles. Recruiting the best FMA masters and instructors, just as they did in China with Kung Fu, they have aimed to create the world’s leading FMA training centre.

The school is located on a stunning tropical beach, overlooking the crystal clear ocean on the island of Palawan. This has been voted one of the best travel destinations in the world by National Geographic Traveler’s Magazine. So, it’s a majestic location to learn FMA as well as enjoy the natural benefits and island hopping opportunities of the Philippines.

Students wake up to the sunshine glistening off the ocean, and can stroll through landscaped gardens to a section of private beach. It really is a martial arts paradise.

Based on self-defence, FMA uses joint locks, grappling, weapon disarming and weaponry such as sticks and knives. It also teaches you various improvised techniques and weapons that you could use in a street environment.

Differing from other martial arts styles, training usually starts with sticks and weapons before progressing on to hand-to-hand combat. Focusing on agility and ambidextrous fighting styles, FMA is a fast-paced and exciting martial art.

Training you to keep both hands in action, always moving in different directions, will give you a huge advantage in any combat situation. It allows you to strike and block with both hands simultaneously.
