The Four Peaks High Country Track is a 4 day unguided walk or mountain bike ride in Canterbury, New Zealand over an historic sheep & cattle station, in the hills near Fairlie, 2 hours from Christchurch.
You stay in upgraded shepherd’ huts with flush toilets, hot showers, & a ton of charm. Your packs are transported from hut to hut so you only walk with a small daypack to carry lunch & wet weather gear.
The track is 50 – 60km circuit, magic scenery, and a great way to explore NZ’s high country paradise.

You arrive in the evening of your 1st night between 6.00 - 8.00pm. Setting off next morning for 3 more days/nights in the high country. This is an inexpensive outdoor summer holiday - with fresh air, exercise, and with a bunch of your great mates!
You traverse an untouched landscape of native bush, wildlife, peace & tranquility, as well as seeing the stock on a working high country station.
This 4 day unguided walk in Canterbury New Zealand is also a great bike ride - you follow a clearly marked track each day.
Accommodation consists of authentic shepherds' huts that have been upgraded for comfort but still retain their charm of yesteryear.
Each hut is set beside a freshwater stream, has gas cooking facilities with all crockery etc. provided, contains comfortable mattresses & pillows, and flush loos & hot showers. You just need to bring your food, sleeping bag & clothes required... plus camera & sense of adventure!
