The tour offers an opportunity to encounter the mountain gorillas in their natural habitat in Bwindi national park. Note that a round trip flight from Entebbe to Bwindi national park is included in the quotation.
The trip is meant for visitors interested in taking a short flight from Entebbe airport to Bwindi national park. The flights between Entebbe airport and Bwindi national park are run daily by AeroLink Uganda Limited. Note that it is possible to book the 3-day gorilla fly-in trek after visiting the Serengeti in Tanzania or Maasai Mara in Kenya.
Day 1: Fly from Entebbe airport to go Gorilla trekking in Bwindi National Park. Take your flight from Entebbe International Airport to Kisoro, Bwindi National Park. The flight from Entebbe to Kisoro will take about an hour.
A Bamboo Ecotours guide will pick you up from Kisoro Airstrip and drive to the lodge for check-in. In the afternoon, you can opt to do optional activities such as canoeing at Lake Mutanda, coffee-making experience, and Batwa cultural tour.
Note that Kihihi airport located in Kanungu district also operates direct flights from Entebbe to Bwindi national park. Kihihi airport is best suited when trekking gorillas at Ruhija and Buhoma sectors.
Day 2: The Uganda fly-in safari adventure begins with Gorilla trekking at Bwindi National Park. You will head to the Bwindi National Park gate immediately after breakfast to get a briefing about the gorilla trek. The national park guide will conduct the presentation that covers the basics of what to expect during the gorilla trek. The national guide will assign the gorilla trekking group during the pre-trekking briefing. Other visitors will likely join you. The gorilla trek can take from few to many hours, depending on how far the gorillas are inside the forest.
Day 3: Fly from Bwindi National Park to Entebbe airport to complete this Uganda fly-in safari. A Bamboo Ecotours guide will pick you up from the lodge at 6:00am and drive to Kisoro Airport. Take an early morning AeroLink flight from Kisoro Airport to Entebbe International Airport. The flight from Kisoro to Entebbe will take about an hour.
