If you want a mountain biking adventure, including hitting up all the best bike parks in Slovenia with like-minded people, then this Downhill MTB bike park tour is for you! Slovenia is largely unspoilt in its natural splendour and has some of the best views in all of Europe. During this trip we will be travelling around different regions of Slovenia, visiting mountain bike parks within ski resorts, iconic national parks, and more. We will also be stopping in some beautiful towns and cities, enjoying the sights.

This trip has course elements so you will be sharpening your skills along the way, and the main focus will be visiting the various bike parks found in different regions of Slovenia. It is designed to run in small groups of 6 to 8 people. This ensures you get the benefits of peer learning and shared experiences, but we can still focus on each individual and keep the emphasis very much on you. We aim to have you leave our time with us with improved bike control, confidence, and an invigorated enthusiasm for mountain biking.

We pride ourselves on providing a fully immersive and cultural experience to those who join us on our expedition holidays. We provide all mountain bike guides, accommodation, meals, and transport (excluding flights) so that after a long day on the trails you can relax, unwind, take in all the breathtaking views and leave all the arrangements to us.

We welcome everyone from all skill levels to join us on this trip. We strive to give everyone who travels with us a bespoke experience, therefore, all our trips are tailored to each specific group to ensure everyone is satisfied and routes are appropriately matched for your level of ability. We will always discuss beforehand how far everyone is willing to go and make changes accordingly.

Slovenia Mountain Biking Holiday: Itinerary

Day 1: Once you have arrived in Slovenia, we will meet at the airport and transfer to our accommodation. However, those that chose different means of travel, e.g. driving, will meet up with the group at the hotel. Once the group is together we will meet, greet, and then head out for a traditional Slovene meal. This provides a great opportunity for everyone to get to know each other, discuss the coming week, and enjoy some great food.

In the afternoon, we will build up our bikes, sort out our kit, and discuss the different areas/routes we are going to tackle. If there is time we will jump on our bikes and blast off the cobwebs so we are all ready for what this adventure is going to bring.

Day 2: Throughout this trip, we want to share some of the best mountain biking spots with you and it is time to start that mission. Today we will head to Golte Ski Resort and take the gondola to the top of the mountain and hit the trails for a full day of riding. There is also a bike park here we will visit with beginner, intermediate, and expert tracks.

Day 3: Today we will be travelling to Rogla Ski Resort. We are excited to share this special area with you and take you on some great trails. There is some great scenery to experience throughout, such as nature reserves, waterfalls, rainforests, farms, historical churches, and more. There are 3 routes available, which are all circular. This means that we can all finish up at the ski resort and meet up for some food and a drink.

Day 4: Today we will be travelling an hour over to the Slovenia/Austria border where the Koroska region is located, with its beautiful meadows and mountains, to visit the local bike park with more than 30km of trails! After a hearty lunch, we will enjoy as many kilometres as we can before heading back to our accommodation.

Day 5: After an early breakfast we will depart towards Kranjska Gora, set up our bikes, and grab a quick coffee. We will then take in this new region and its bike parks, exploring and putting our skills to the test. Once again this area has options for all levels of ability.

Day 6: Today we will explore the mountain town of Bovec. It is the adventure sports capital of the country. There are so many options within this area. You may want to explore the natural trails whilst we are here. The main attraction, Triglav National Park, is a place of beauty. It is the largest protected area and the only national park in Slovenia. After this, we will head to the stunning River Soča for a refreshing swim.

Day 7: After an early breakfast, we will move back across the mountains and head for the capital city of Ljubljana. Taking in a trail from just outside the city we shall ride down into the bike park and ride the local trails. If you would like, in the evening, we can put time aside to go sightseeing and take in the city before our final meal at our favourite restaurant.

Day 8: All good things must come to an end. Depending on flight times, we shall have a final breakfast together before packing up and transferring to the airport where we must say our final goodbyes.
