This Serene Scenes canoeing safari is a Zimbabwe multi activity holiday at it’s finest! Enjoy an African adventure and maybe even see the Big 5!
The Serene Scenes canoeing safari starts in Harare where you are met by Cameron Harvey Safari hosts. We then travel north to the start of your canoeing adventure on the Zambezi River…a few days drifting downstream in harmony with Zambezi’s resident wildlife.
Back on land in Mana Pools we can enjoy more game, with game drives, perhaps a bit of fishing for some fresh bream snacks and of course, you will be spoilt by the fabulous Zambezi sunsets. We then transfer by road out of the valley, up the escarpment and down the other side to Lake Kariba and Warthogs Safari camp, where you will encounter the largest man made lake in the world and one of the largest dam walls in the world.
After 2 days an air transfer will take you west to the outskirts of Hwange National Park for 2 days in search of some of the “Big 5″…perhaps you will be lucky enough to encounter Lion or Leopard! To finish, what better way than 2 days in Victoria Falls, one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World, and home to a multitude of activities for both the adventurous and also for those who just want to “chill”. This Zimbabwe multi activity holiday has it all!
Plan for Zimbabwe multi activity holiday:
Arrive Harare International Airport. After meeting with us, transfer to Guinea Fowl Lodge.
Overnight at Guinea Fowl Lodge in Harare (Dinner, Bed and breakfast)
Transfer with us by road to Makuti. Continue into the valley with Natureways, to the start of your Serene Scenes canoeing safari down the Zambezi river.
You will spend 3 nights and 4 days meandering down the Zambezi River to Mana Pools, stopping each night on islands to camp and fall asleep to the sounds of the river life. (Full board)
Your Serene Scenes canoeing safari ends at Mana Pools, where you are back on (very!) dry land.
Meet up with the Cameron Harvey Safaris staff to transfer to Elephant Creek Tented Camp. (Full board)
Then continue to sit back and relax while we are your hosts for 2 nights. We will take you on game drives whenever you wish and show you some of the hidden secrets of Mana Pools.
A bit of an early start driving out of the park to Warthogs Safaris Camp, Kariba, where we should arrive before lunchtime.
Chill by the pool during lunch and end the day with a sundowner on the floodplains. (Full board)
Time for a gentle early morning walk with your personal guide along the Nyanyana River (those wanting to; a more strenuous walk can be arranged). Alternatively you might try your hand at some fishing.
Regain your energy with lunch at Warthogs before a stroll around the heights, visiting Kariba’s impressive dam wall and the historic Santa Barbara church built in memory of those who died building the wall. For those feeling more adventurous, we can arrange for parasailing on the lake. (Full board)
Head to the North-East of Zimbabwe, via a private charter flight to Hwange Main Airstrip.
Flight time is approximately 1 hour up the lake to Hwange Main Airport. Transfer to Ivory Lodge or similar, just outside Hwange National Park for 2 nights. Included in your safari is 1 guided game drive or walk on Day 1 and 2 guided drives/walks on Day 2. (Full Board)
Your final journey will be back to Victoria Falls via road to Phezulu Lodge or similar (D,B&B)
Of course, a must to see is the Falls themselves, but there are many other activities on offer, both adventurous and tranquil while you are there, rafting, gorge swings and bungee off the historic Vic Falls Iron bridge, to river trips, relaxing in pools on the edge of the Falls and canopy tours. (activities are at client’s expense)
Return to Vic Falls Airport to transfer back to Harare International Airport and the end of your Zimbabwe multi activity holiday.
