The ride is always away from busy roads. We ride on small paths, trails, single tracks, and quiet country back roads through villages, farmlands, remote villages, fishing villages, and mountain villages. It depends on location, region! Each itinerary has a well-informed; road surface and road conditions. Most trails, paths, and country back roads support vehicles that cannot follow. Don’t worry about the daily cycling distance, although it is too long! You can meet our support vehicle at intervals of 15km/ every 15km if someone in the group would love to rest on the support vehicle and wish to continue riding at the next point.

Mekong cycling holiday in the Central Highlands of Vietnam: Itinerary.

Day 01: Saigon - Cu Chi tunnel
Cu Chi is 65 km northwest of Saigon. The tunnel network of Cu Chi became legendary in the war. It has three levels and stretches over 250km. This excursion trip combines the best cycling routes and a great time learning more about the war and the resilience of the Vietnamese. Depart from HCMC: 7:30 am by vehicle with a transfer to the outskirts of HCM. Half-day biking to Cu Chi tunnel in the morning. Then, we spent an hour and a half exploring the tunnel network before we went back to HCM by vehicle. Our team will leave HCM for Dalat tonight to meet you at Lien Khuong airport the following day.

Day 02: Saigon - Dalat
Today, you will have an early morning flight from HCM to Lien Khuong Airport. Upon arriving at Lien Khuong airport, our team will get you and take you to the restaurant for breakfast. Challenge some hills, see the daily lives of minority people of Ta Nung Village and Nam Ban, and enjoy fantastic views of Ta Nung Village and Nam Ban before we continue to biking to Dalat City.

Day 03: Dalat - Nha Trang
The second day' ride is divided into different levels. The morning is a real challenge riding rolling hills, but I can easily cycle on flat land in the afternoon. After breakfast at the hotel, we check out for an hour, driving by van/bus to the rural pine forest; the particular mountain scenery with nice temperature could be a mental stimulation to help you challenge your cycling skills. After a coffee break and a photo taken at Hon Giao Peak, you will have a wonderful ride downhill 30 km to Suoi Loi. In the afternoon, we bike into the countryside past sugar cane fields, rice paddy, thatch houses, and local markets to Dien Khanh. We get on a van/bus right here for a transfer to Nha Trang City.

Day 04: Nha Trang city tour
Nha Trang is known with warm weather all year round, with many attractive sandy beaches in central provinces. It also owns many small islands, which are fantastic places to enjoy swimming, snorkeling, and getting suntan. We leave for a boat trip and to relax on the beach after 2 days of being beaten up by bikes. We first stop at Coral Island, so you enjoy swimming and seeing corals. Second, we'll have lunch at Mini Beach and continue relaxing on the beach until we return to the dock. Free to have your own dinners in the evening.

Day 05: Nha Trang – Qui Nhon
Today, we'll start the ride earlier because it is a very long way from Nha Trang to Quy Nhon. Biking paths are flat and beautiful, going through countryside mountain rice fields, fishing villages, and salt farms. We'll enjoy a delicious meal at seafood restaurants by Dai Lanh Beach. In the afternoon, a beautiful rural country back road with hilly paths across sweet potato plantations, fishing villages, and many huge lakes connected to the ocean gives you a lovely ride. The rest of today is a single track by the sea. Our guides will lead you cycling into tiny fishing villages, riding over small wood bridges, and cycling past shelter buildings with simple materials by salt fields. We'll get on a van/bus for Quy Nhon City in the late afternoon.

Day 06: Quy Nhon – Quang Ngai
Quy Nhon and Quang Ngai provinces own beautiful coastal back roads in central Vietnam. Many quiet asphalt countryside back roads through mountainous areas; some are hilly, flat single tracks by the sea and country paths through rice paddy, and the rest are mountain passes.
We checked out and left the hotel at 7:30 am. It takes about 20 minutes by van/bus to fishing villages. We start a morning ride by Thi Nai's lake and ride on the smooth, hilly coastal road, passing white sand dunes, tiny fishing villages, and some little seaside towns. Stop for lunch at a seafood restaurant in a small town on the way. On sunny afternoons, peaceful country roads through the countryside, and magnificent mountain views, we'll pass shrimp farms and local farms. Then, we will ride across coconut plantations amongst villages in Tam Quang Dist before we get on an A/C van/bus for an hour, driving you to Quang Ngai in the late afternoon.

Day 07: Quang Ngai – Hoi An
Quang Ngai is known to foreign tourists because of the My Lai Massacre, which was in the Vietnam War. After we visited this memorial, we started our bike riding. A morning ride is 35 km but it allows us to explore some hamlets of Son My, Son Tinh and Sa Ky fishing port. We'll continue cycling and bicycling through cassava root farms and corn farms on hilly single tracks. Our lunch today is at a famous chicken rice restaurant in Quang Ngai City. It's a local specialty chicken rice that is well-known in central provinces. After lunch, an easy bike ride on unique country rural back roads, across ride fields and agricultural villages, gives you so much time to see buffaloes on rice paddies and bamboo bridges across rivers, and they are shortcuts connecting both sides of the river and small lakes. In the late afternoon, we ride past some local factories building wooden boats and ride over Cua Dai Bridge to Hoi An town.

Day 08: Hoi An free day
Today is free so you can explore Hoian on your own and enjoy swimming at the hotel. Breakfast/ Lunch

Day 09: Hoi An - Hue
After an hour of driving by van/bus to Da Nang City, then you can choose an option: ride rolling hills, challenge Hai Van Pass yourself as you conquer this Pass, OR van/bus drive you to the peak of Hai Van Pass. You could see the big weather difference between Da Nang and Hue from the Hai Van' Pass. You can also see many old American bunkers on the peak of Hai Van Pass. After a coffee break and taking photos of a particular scene, we continued cycling down to Lang Co beach. Enjoy a seafood lunch at a local by the beach. Then we continue the afternoon cycling onward to Hue. We will do mountainous riding before we ride off roads to the oceanic countryside into small fishing villages, benefitting from spectacular views by the sea. There will be many well-earned breaks to take in the views and experience local lifestyles.

Day 10: Hue Country Bike Tour – night train to Hanoi
Hue was the capital of Vietnam before 1945. It holds the treasures of Vietnam's royal past, including tombs, pagodas, a typical blend of French and Vietnamese architecture, and historical relics. Before your cycle, you will visit the Imperial Citadel, including the Forbidden Purple City. The latter was almost totally destroyed in the Vietnam War during the Tet Offensive. Your ride is about 30km through some traditional villages, rice fields, and the countryside of Hue; stop at some sites: pagodas, bunkers, and tombs. Your guide will arrange a good restaurant so you can try some of the local specialties that graced the Nguyen emperors' banquet tables. Then we get back to the hotel to shower before your guide takes you to the train station. Sleep a night on the Reunification train to Ha Noi

Day 11: Ha Noi city tour
The train will arrive at the station around 6:30 am. You are welcomed and will be taken to hotel for breakfast. Today, you'll continue your trip without cycling. You will enjoy seeing/visiting the highlights of Hanoi with a full-day tour of the city. We visit Ho Chi Minh's mausoleum (Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/ Saturday/Sunday), see Uncle Ho's resting place, the Presidential Palace, and the One Pillar Pagoda - all must-see landmarks. Then, we continue to see the Temple of Literature Hoa Lo Prison before a cycle ride through the Old Quarter. Free to discover Ha Noi city by your own in the evening.

Day 12: Ha Noi - HaLong Bay
Halong Bay is one of the most amazing natural wonders, and its natural beauty with thousands of islands, including beaches, caves, and fishing villages on the bay. You are picked up at your hotels at 7:20 am, and then you enjoy 3 hours of driving by vehicle to Ha Long. Get on board at 11:30 am. Get on board and enjoy welcome drinks. Your guide will make a cruise briefing before we check in the cabin, and then the cruise will start its journey. By this time, you will have a delicious Vietnamese lunch. The cruise will sail to Bai Tu Long Bay, passing the towns of Hon Gai and Cam Pha, Oan Lagoon, Monster Head and, Teapot Islets and Thien Canh Son Cave. you will visit and explore the well-hidden Co Cave (known as Thien Canh Son Cave), where you can hike to the middle of the mountain to see the wild and mysterious beautiful cave, contemplate numerous sparkling
stalactites appear like 'hanging

Cave. After exploring the cave, you return to the boat and enjoy a sunset party. The cruise will drop an anchor in the calm water surrounded by islets in Cong Dam. Your dinner will be served shortly. There are many activities on the boat, entertainment, live music, and a dancing bar that you can join with another traveler.

Day 13: Halong Bay - Ha Noi
Today is a unique opportunity for you to admire the sunrise on the Sundeck with complimentary tea & coffee served before you have breakfast. You will have a bamboo sampan rowing boat taking you to Vung Vieng, a floating fishing village. You are also visit to Pearl Farm to see how natural pearls are created. Then return to Paloma Cruise for your leisure or join one of the following optional activities: Sunbathing, traditional massage etc. Your lunch is on board while the cruise returns to Hon Gai dock around 11:45 am. You will return to Hanoi by van/bus around 4:30 pm. Tour End!
