Luxury Mallorca cycling holiday: Itinerary
Day One - Arrival Day (31st March 2022)
Bike check for each client, and we set off for a short ride to check the bike fit and to get the body ready for the days ahead – heading downhill to Puerto Soller to take in the sea-breeze & views and then, climb up to the beautiful village of Fornalutx anand return back to our hotel in time for the group welcome evening cocktails and 4-course dinner and wine.
Day 2 - Coastal Loop & Post Ride Interactive Discussion (1st April 2022)
This is the first full day of riding, where you will enjoy the beautiful coastal routes including the hamlet of Deia and town of Valldemossa. We climb up past George Sands and via Esporles for a snack & coffee stop. From there head back via Palmanyola, Bunyola & over the scenic Coll de Soller and finally head back to the hotel.
Post ride and break: There will be a group talk, explanation and interactive workshop on the benefits to the cyclist of core stability, stretching and injury prevention from a professional cycling team physiotherapist. Approximate total distance of 75km & elevation of 1640m. Evening group dinner.
Day 3 (2nd April 2022)
Today we go straight inland and take on some memorable climbs and spectacular views. The initial climb up Coll de Soller is the warm up and then we cruise inland towards Bunyola & Santa Maria del Cami and stop at Alaro where we can refuel, recover and regroup. Then we head back towards Bunyola, Coll de Soller and finally home back to Puerto Soller. Approximate total distance of 80km & elevation of 1847m. Evening group farewell dinner.
Day 4 (3rd April 2022)
Short by many standards at approximately 72km (45 miles), but possibly the hardest and definitely the hilliest day of this Luxury Mallorca cycling holiday, we take on the highest climb on the island - Puig Major – just shy of 900m over 14km (8.6 miles) ascent, with a grand total for the day of just under 2000m (6,500ft) of vertical climbing. Today is about testing your legs & spirit. You will see the sights of Cuber Reservoir and descend the majestic serpent winding road of Sa Calobra. After a refreshment break at the base of Sa Calobra we reverse the ride retracing our steps up Sa Calobra, with two points on the road at 11.5% ascent and make our way back up to Cuber, through tunel Puig Major, and down the long winding road back to Puerto Soller. Approximate total distance of 72km & elevation of 2160m. Return back to the hotel, freshen up and private transfer to Palma de Mallorca Airport ready for your return flight.
