Feeling the unique atmosphere of the mountains by spending every night in a different hut and getting to know the local people, local culture and the pride of the “Slovak mountain communities“ within the ecosystem of the Tatra mountains.
Accommodation is provided in iconic mountain chalet huts, with some located at high elevations and/or in valleys during the whole stay. The accommodation is shared with other hikers and active adventurists; the capacity of the accommodation/rooms differs from hut to hut. Towel and bed linen are included in the price.
This style of accommodation is rustic, authentic and exhilarating so whilst it may not have the exact personal comfort of a hotel you will be delighted by spectacular mountain sunsets and sunrises as well as an uniquely friendly atmosphere and authenticity throughout this tour. Staying overnight in different mountain huts allows travellers to hike through the High Tatras mountain range without the need to return back to a village or city after each days hike.

Day to day itinerary for hut to hut High Tatras trekking holiday in Slovakia
DAY 1 ARRIVAL
EASTERN (WHITE OR BELIANSKE TATRAS) – Ždiar
Arrival to the Eastern (White) Tatras, to Zdiar village or Bachledova Valley. In the evening a local representative will meet the clients, explaining the details of the programme/ itinerary and the specifics of the area. Dedicate this day to experience one of the newest attractions of the region – the ‘Bachledka Treetop Walk’, which can be reached either by walking from Bachledova Valley or by taking the modern cable car (the cable car ticket is included in the price). The Treetop Walk offers breathtaking views across the High Tatras and White Tatras, as well as the Pieniny National Park.
DAY 2
EASTERN (WHITE OR BELIANSKE TATRAS) – Plesnivec Cottage
Walk on the cycling trail to the village Tatranska Kotlina. Possibility to visit the most popular cave of Slovakia – Belianska cave. From Tatranska Kotlina follow first the blue, than the green sign and hike to Plesnivec cottage (cca 90 minutes). Overnight in Plesnivec cottage.
DAY 3
HIGH TATRAS – Zamkovského Hut
Today´s goal is to reach the Veľká Svišťovka Peak (2023 m) and continue to Skalnaté Pleso mountain tarn, one of the most popular spots in the High Tatras. Enjoy the breathtaking views on the way, have a rest by the mountain tarn and than hike on the famous tourist trail Tatranská Magistrála and you will arrive to Zamkovského Hut. Overnight in Zamkovskeho hut.
DAY 4
HIGH TATRAS – Zbojnícka chata (Robber´s Hut)
Hike to the Great Cold Valley with the largest number of tarns, surrounded by the majestic peaks: Slavkovský Peak, Východná Vysoká Peak, Javorový Peak and others, it is also today’s accommodation destination – Rubber´s Hut is situated. In the evening or early morning you might catch a glimpse of the most famous creatures of the Tatras: ‘Tatras Chamoix’ (mountain goats) in their natural habitat. There is a less challenging alternative/ option and that is to walk through the valley with impressive cascade Waterfalls of the Cold Creek passing by Rainer´s Hut to Robber´s Hut. The more challenging hiking trail for experienced hikers leads through the highest located mountain hut in the Tatras – Téryho Hut (2015 m). Using iron steps and chains on this trail will amplify your mountain experience. Your effort will be rewarded by spectacular views.
DAY 5 of hut to hut High Tatras trekking holiday in Slovakia
HIGH TATRAS – Mountain hotel Sliezsky Dom
This day offers more options, depending on your physical condition. The trail from Robber´s Hut to the Mountain hotel Sliezsky Dom belongs to one of the most attractive trails in the High Tatras, offering views to the famous peaks Vysoká, Ľadový Peak, Rysy and some of the peaks of the Polish Tatras. The iron steps and chains escalate the experience when walking through the rocks. If you feel fit enough, you can modify your hiking trail by passing the Východná Vysoká Peak (2429 m). Overnight in Mountain Hotel Sliezsky Dom.
DAY 6
HIGH TATRAS – Majlathova Hut or the Hut under the Rysy Peak
Sliezky Dom location counts as one of the the highest located hotel’s in the Tatras (1670 m) situated just under the highest peak of Slovakia – Gerlach (2655 m). Pumped with new energy, get ready for a hike to Popradské Pleso tarn, one of the most visited tarns in the High Tatras. Another option for experienced hikers is to continue to the Hut under the Rysy Peak (2245 m), the highest mountain hut in Slovakia, which has no electricity and is supplied exclusively by Sherpas. An overnight in this hut is surely a unique experience. Overnight either in Majlathova hut or in the Hut under the Rysy peak.
DAY 7
HIGH TATRAS – Hut under Solisko (Chata pod Soliskom)
The reward for today´s hiking effort will be the unique view over Podtatranská Basin, the Low Tatras and the Kriváň Peak, which is the symbol of Slovakia.The trail passes by one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the Tatras - Skok (Jump) cascading down from height of 25m. If you decide for a less demanding option, take the trail to Štrbské pleso - which is both the name of the village and the mountain tarn. Štrbské pleso is one of the most visited villages of the High Tatras and thanks to its good infrastructure it has hosted many international sport events. If you´ve spent the night in the Hut under the Rysy Peak, take the path crossing the Popradské pleso tarn and continue along the wooded ridge to the Hut under the Solisko Peak.
DAY 8
