Unique 5-day all women ski touring holiday set against the stunning backdrop of Hornstrandir Nature Reserve, Iceland’s Westfjords.

This unique EXTRAORDINARY JOURNEY provides accommodation and meals on board the lovingly-restored oak boat” Örkin”. This package is offered 4 weeks out of the year and will offer an ALL WOMENS WEEK, with female crew/captain and guide.

Under the leadership of skilled ski guide Sara Hlín Sigurðardóttir, the group will navigate the backcountry. We will carve through powder-covered slopes, happy in the sheer thrill of untouched descents.

This exclusive ski touring experience is set against the stunning backdrop of Hornstrandir Nature Reserve in the Westfjords of Iceland. This amazing trip promises a fusion of unparalleled natural beauty, female empowerment, as well as the thrill of exploring untamed landscapes.

The peninsula of Hornstrandir is like no other. Covering about 580 square kilometers, it is a vast, mountainous tundra interrupted by deep fjords and glacial valleys. No motor vehicles, helicopters or airplanes exist here, so if you’re looking for tranquility, remoteness and mindful adventure, you found it here!

What to expect

5 day ALL Women ski touring holiday, Iceland: Itinerary.

Arrive Reykjavík, connecting flight to Ísafjörður
The tours start on Sunday and end on Friday
It is suggested to overnight in Reykjavik and connect to Ísafjörður the following morning. All Guests meet by 11am at the Ísafjörður Harbour.

For five days the group will traverse mountains, slopes and fjords, losing ourselves in the unique beauty of the Westfjords’ rugged terrain. One of the highlights of the journey is the seamless transition from the icy slopes down to the shore of the pristine waters of the Westfjords of Iceland.

The traditional oak boat Örkin, serves as transport and accommodation. Originally built as a fishing vessel, it has now been comfortably remade into a passenger vessel with rustic charm. She is perfect for nature adventures and provides space where stories are shared and friendships are forged.
