About Ama Dablam Expedition
Ama Dablam Expedition is a splendid journey that leads to the beautiful top of Mt. Ama Dablam. Climbed first in 1961, 13th March via southwest ridge, Mt. Ama Dablam is one of the most attractive mountains in the Khumbu region that has attracted hundreds of climbers from all around the globe. Standing 6,812 meters above the sea level Mt. Ama Dablam offers a once in a lifetime journey that offers a stunning landscape and breath-taking views of the Himalayas. Located south of Mt. Everest (8,848 m) and Mt. Lhotse (8,516 m), Mt. Ama Dablam has a pyramid shape with sharp exposed ridges from all sides.
The word Ama Dablam means Mother Necklace. The appearance of the mountain is described in this way; the long ridges on each side are like the arms of the mother protecting her child, whereas the hanging glacier resembles double-pendant containing the images of gods worn by Sherpa women. During climbing, you get to see the rich culture and lifestyle of the locals. Likewise, you will also visit many ancient stupas and monasteries on the way. The trail will likewise take you to the beautiful Gokyo Valley, where you spend the night in fine Gokyo village and explore stunning Gokyo Lakes.
Ama Dablam Mountaineering Expedition in Himalaya, Nepal: Itinerary
Day 01: Arrived at Kathmandu and transport to the hotel.
You arrived at the Tribhuvan International Airport, where one of our team members will welcome you and take you to the hotel. After checking into the hotel, you get quickly briefed about the day program and rest for a few hours depending on your arrival. Later, in the evening, you will meet other team members over a welcome dinner organized by the company.

Day 02: Sightseeing around Kathmandu and preparation day.
After having breakfast, you begin your guided sightseeing tour. As it is morning time, the rush is low. You will visit UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhnath Stupa, Kathmandu Durbar Square, and Swayambhunath. Later, in the day, you prepare for the trip. You check all the documents and gears and do final packing.

Day 03: Fly to Lukla (2,800 m) & trek to Phakding (2,652 m); 40 mins flight; 3/4 hrs trek.
Lukla is the starting point of our trek. To reach here, you will take a short thrilling flight. The flight offers distant views of Himalayas. Upon landing at Lukla, you meet with other team members and head towards Phakding. From Lukla, the trail descends along with a stream and passes through Cheplung village before reaching Phakding.

Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazar (3,440 m); 5/6 hrs.
Crossing Dudh Koshi River multiple times over bridges, you reach Benkar village. Further, you cross more bridges and reach Monjo village. The trail from here goes through Sagarmatha National Park, which is the habitat of numerous flora and fauna. The trail from the park is steep and difficult. Namche Bazar will welcome you with a stunning view of Lhotse, Everest, Tawache, and other mountains.

Day 05: Rest day.
This is an acclimatization day. The day is designed to let your body adjust with the increasing altitude. You will explore Namche Bazar and visit places like the Sherpa Culture Museum and Everest Photo Gallery. You will also go on short excursions to nearby places like Everest View Hotel or Khumjung village. There are so many things to do and look around in Namche Bazar.

Day 06: Trek to Thame (3,820m); 5/6 hrs.
The trail steeply moves towards the north-west and lead you to Nangpo Drangpo valley (Bhote Khosi). Trekking through lush forests of rhododendron, you pass through a lovely waterfall and cross Kyajo Khola. From Thamo village, you ascend and reach Tesi Lapcha Pass. Further, trek for around an hour and a half to reach Thame.

Day 07: Trek to Lungden (4,350m); 4 hrs.
The trail today is peaceful. You trek and reach Tangmote and descend passing through a huge chorten. From here, trekking on a trodden trail, you pass by many mani walls and reach Yellajung. Further, the trail ascends and passes through several small villages and lead you to Lungden.

Day 08: Trek to Gokyo (4,790m) via Renjo La Pass (5,340m); 8 hrs.
Today, it is going to be a challenging day. The trail ascends towards Black Lake. From here, you walk on stone steps and reach Renjo La Pass. From the top of the pass, you get to see the awesome landscape. Later, you designed to beautiful Gokyo Valley for night stay.

Day 09: Rest day.
Today is a rest day. You go on a short hike to Gokyo Ri to acclimatize your body and witness excellent mountain views. From the viewpoint, you see views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Cho Oyu, and several other mountains along with stunning Gokyo Lakes. You return to the village after exploring around.

Day 10: Trek to Machhermo.
From Gokyo, you will trek alongside a river and pass through rocky paths. The trail gradually drops down to Machhermo offering superb scenery.

Day 11: Trek to Pangboche.
Trekking through small villages and lush forests, you head towards Pangboche. Here, you will visit the Pangboche monastery, where you will get to see the head of the Yeti.

Day 12: Amadablam Base Camp.
The trail ascends to Ama Dablam Base Camp. You climb through rocky steep paths. On the way, you get to see views of numerous Himalaya mountains.

Day 13-26: Climbing period.
From day 14, your climbing period begins. Over 12 days, you will be gradually ascending towards the summit of Mt. Ama Dablam establishing different camps as per the need. Your team leader will teach you basic climbing skills and fix rope every time requires. After a successful summit, you descend to Pangboche.

Day 27: Trek to Namche.
From Pangboche, the trail descends to Imja Khola and ascends through lush forests towards Tengboche. From here, you descend through dense forests of juniper and rhododendron and cross a bridge over Dudh Koshi to reach Sansa. The trail then passes through another forest and takes you to Namche Bazar.

Day 28: Trek to Phakding.
After having breakfast, you begin descending through the national park. Crossing several small villages and streams, you reach Phakding for night stay.

Leaving Phakding behind, you ascend through forests path along a stream and reach Lukla.

Day 30: Fly back to Kathmandu.
Today, you fly back to Kathmandu enjoying the last views of the Himalayas. Upon landing at Kathmandu, you head to the hotel.

Day 31: Leisure in Kathmandu.
It is an extra day in Kathmandu. You can rest and visit nearby tourist spots. Don't forget to do shopping. In the evening, you will meet all the team members for the last time over farewell dinner organized by the company.

Day 32: Depart Kathmandu.
Today, you will fly back to your home or your next destination. Our team member will drop you at the airport and bid you our last goodbye.
