Starting out from Ronda, your s3-Day Self-Guided Leisure Cycling Tour in Andalucia, Spain will take you via five delightfully different white villages, staying overnight in two of them. You will also visit the remains of the Roman amphitheatre at Acinipo and stop off at a waterfall and beauty spot at the Cueva del Gato. Cycle at your own pace each day, taking plenty of opportunities to enjoy the views and stopping regularly to try out the local tapas. You finish back in Ronda for a final night with time to explore this historic town and its spectacular gorge and bridge.

What to expect

3-Day Self-Guided Adventure Cycling Tour in Andalucia, Spain: Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrive in Ronda. Overnight in 4**** central hotel. Visit the famous Puente Nuevo bridge and the oldest bullring in Spain.

Cycling Day 1 - Ronda to Setenil de las Bodegas 45km +666m Ride via vineyards, olive groves and a baroque church to the 'cavehouse village' of Setenil. Overhanging limestone cliffs create rock dwellings, still used today as houses, shops and cafes. Overnight in a traditional village hotel.

Cycling Day 2 - Setenil to Montejaque 35km +811m Cycle up to the remains of the Roman hilltop settlement of Acinipo, with a striking amphitheatre and fantastic views across the Grazalema mountains. Then on through cork oak forest and past an abandoned dam to the village of Montejaque. Overnight in a traditional hotel on the village plaza.

Cycling Day 3 - Montejaque to Ronda 18km +437m Cycle to the beauty spot known as the 'Cat Cave' (Cueva del Gato), named not for any cats but after the shape of the large cavemouth which opens into a waterfall, creating a crystal-clear pool of blue water. Climb gradually up the hill to Ronda for a final afternoon of sightseeing and relaxation in the town's many tapas bars and restaurants.
