Visit Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage. In addition to learning about their conservation and rehabilitation efforts, you will learn about how they gradually introduce rehabilitated elephants back into the wild. We’ll depart the orphanage and drive to Giraffe Centre. This is the only place you’re likely to see the Rothschild giraffe. You get to feed the giraffes by hand and they are very friendly. The staff also give you quite an insight into giraffes and explain the different breeds of giraffe and how they exist in the wild.

If you have read the book or even seen the movie, you will of course enjoy the visit more. The house itself, its gardens and its grounds are all superbly maintained, and so pleasing to the eye.

Day 01: Arrival Nairobi, Kenya

Arrival in Nairobi, Jomo Kenyatta International airport, Inclusive Holidays Africa representative will meet you and escort you as you to your hotel.
Our representative will help you through check-in and make sure you are settled in well.

A premium wildlife resort strategically located just off the Mombasa road overlooking the Nairobi National Game Park. Centrally positioned between the international airport and the city center, this is the only hotel bordering the wilds of the National Park.

Day 02: Visit Daphne Orphanage | Giraffe Centre | Lunch | Karen Blixen | Dinner

After breakfast head out to a full day excursion of Nairobi City. Our first stop, is Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage. In addition to learning about their conservation and rehabilitation efforts, you will learn about how they gradually introduce rehabilitated elephants back into the wild. We’ll depart the orphanage and drive to Giraffe Centre. This is the only place you're likely to see the Rothschild giraffe. You get to feed the giraffes by hand and they are very friendly. The staff also give you quite an insight into giraffes and explain the different breeds of giraffe and how they exist in the wild.

Shortly after lunch drive to Karen Blixen Museum located "at the foot of the Ngong Hills", is the former African home of Danish author Karen Blixen. The museum has a romantic, mystical and captivating history. Karen Blixen became famous once her book Out of Africa became a major Hollywood movie with Meryl Streep and Robert Redford in it. The museum is essentially what was Karen’s home. If you have read the book or even seen the movie, you will of course enjoy the visit more. The house itself, its gardens and its grounds are all superbly maintained, and so pleasing to the eye. Thereafter proceed to our hotel and the rest of the afternoon is yours for relaxation, or you’re free to embark on some independent discoveries.

Dinner will be at Nairobi's open-air Carnivore restaurant for a Welcome Dinner. Kenya's famous nyama choma (barbecued meat) is served on an all-you-can-eat basis, and carved right at your table. Dinner includes a variety of succulent steaks, including ostrich, camel, crocodile, and the more standard beef, chicken, and pork. After dinner a short drive back to our hotel for overnight.

Day 03: Fly to Masai Mara National Reserve | Afternoon game-viewing drive

After an early breakfast transfer to Wilson airport for our flight on a small aircraft to the Masai Mara. On arrival camp staff and vehicle will welcome and transfer you to the lodge with game viewing en route to the hotel.Check in and lunch. Following lunch, you will have a couple of hours to settle into your rooms or explore the lodge's surroundings. Thereafter enjoy an afternoon game-viewing drive, in search of even more wildlife.

Day 04: Masai Mara National Reserve | Full Day Game viewing

After breakfast head out for a full day of adventure - game-viewing in Masai Mara National Reserve over roads that may be bumpy or uneven.

We’ll pause for lunch along the way, and return to our lodge at about 3pm. Perhaps we’ll see great herds of elephants foraging among the clumps of trees that dot the grasslands, or large predators such as lions and leopards. We’ll also keep our eyes peeled for crocodiles lingering on the riverbanks looking for unwary prey, or wildebeest and zebra migrating through the plains. Dinner at the camp.

Day 05 of Kenya & Tanzania safari adventure holiday in East Africa: Masai Mara National Reserve | Full Day Game viewing

The early morning calm has made possible the introduction of balloon safari to catch the sweeping vista of the morning light over Masai Mara. View the game reserve from a bird's-eye perspective as you gently float for an hour over the grassy plains. Upon landing we’ll celebrate with a sparkling-wine breakfast, including options like fruits, pastries, eggs, sausage, and bacon.

For travelers not taking the optional tour, after breakfast depart on morning game-viewing drive in search of game not seen previous day. If you took the optional tour, we'll meet up with the rest of the group for another game viewing drive.
Return to the lodge for lunch.

Following lunch, you will have a couple of hours of free time. Then head out on our safari vehicles for our afternoon game-viewing drive. We'll spend about two hours exploring the African bush this afternoon. All of the “Big Five” roam here, but there are especially notable populations of lions, leopards, and cheetah year-round. During the annual migration, the wildebeest, zebra, and Thomson’s gazelles’ number in the tens of thousands.

We’ll return back to our camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 06: Fly to Amboseli National Park | Afternoon game-viewing drive

Early breakfast of day 6 of this Kenya & Tanzania safari adventure holiday in East Africa then transfer to the airstrip for your flight in small aircraft to Nairobi, Wilson airport.

Once we land, and with packed lunches proceed to Amboseli National Park set on the border of Tanzania and in the shadow of Mount Kilimanjaro, is a bird-watcher’s paradise: It shelters more than 400 bird species, including pelicans, flamingos, kingfishers, and ibis. We may see some of these avian wonders while we take in the view of the sweeping savanna. And while the region’s birdlife is abundant, elephants are by far the kings of this park. Said to be among the largest in the country, Amboseli’s elephants are fond of the swamps.

Day 07: Amboseli National Park | Afternoon game-viewing drive | Masai Village

After breakfast head out to a local village school outside the park. We will have the opportunity to interact and participate in morning class activities when in session. In addition to learning about the school’s future during our chat, we’ll also learn about the unique challenges of life here—including the elephants who were known to stroll through school grounds.

Late morning is a real highlight of this Kenya & Tanzania safari adventure holiday in East Africa. We proceed to a Maasai Village where we will not only witness their way of life, but also participate in it. During our visit, we'll learn more about how they tend their livestock, make natural medicine, and create their ceremonial dress, and we’ll take part in these daily activities—from milking the cows or plastering a home to jumping into ceremonial rituals. Throughout the experience, you’ll have opportunities to make connections with the warm and spirited Maasai people.
Return to the lodge for lunch and thereafter will have some free time to enjoy our lodge amenities.

Regroup at the reception in time for the afternoon game-viewing drive. Look out for the elusive gerenuk, a delicate antelope with a long, giraffe-like neck that enables it to reach the middle branches of acacia trees. We may see families of giraffe, herds of zebra and antelope—and, if we’re lucky, the rare serval cat. And as we ride, you may find yourself especially fascinated by the abundant birdlife, from the colorful little lilac-breasted roller and comical guinea fowl to graceful hawks and eagles.
We return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 08: Amboseli National Park | Arusha Tanzania | Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, with game-viewing drive en route drive to the Kenya-Tanzania border town of Namanga, where we change vehicles. enjoying a. Once we pass through the border, we proceed to Arusha Coffee Lodge for lunch - one of Tanzania’s oldest coffee plantations.

After lunch proceed southwest to Tarangire National Park arriving in time for check in at your camp.

Day 09 of Kenya & Tanzania safari adventure holiday in East Africa: Tarangire National Park

Breakfast and depart for a full day game-viewing drive in the park with packed lunch boxes.

Tarangire features nine distinct vegetation zones—ranging from grassland to woodland, from deep gully vegetation to scattered rocky hilltops.

The flora is similarly dramatic here, as we take in sweeping views of the baobab tree-dotted landscape. Known as the "Tree of Life," these trees can provide shelter, food, and water to animals and humans. In fact, every part of the baobab tree is valuable from the bark and trunk to the nutrient-packed fruits. The elongated trunk and expansive branches have become a symbol of the African landscape—most notably from Disney's The Lion King

During the game-viewing activity, we also learn about how the commanding Tarangire River serves as the hub for the thriving ecosystem we’re witnessing. The river plays a key role in the annual African migration of wildebeest and zebra—and is a critical water source during the continent’s dry season. In addition to wildebeest and zebra, Tarangire hosts Cape buffalo, elephants, giraffe, dik dik, lion, leopard and cheetah—and if we’re lucky, we’ll be able to observe them as we explore. We may also spot the park’s famous termite mounds.We return to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Tarangire National Park | Ngorongoro Conservancy

After breakfast depart and drive to Mto Wa Mbu village where we will discover the importance of agriculture to this village. A local guide from the village will lead us on foot for an exploration of the village which is known for producing crops like the famous red banana. We'll see how this unusual fruit is utilized when a local invite us into their home to show us how they produce banana beer.

We then proceed to our overnight lodge at Karatu for check in and lunch.
In the evening set out on a guided walk through the village our lodge is situated in. We'll see locals going about their daily routines, including tending to livestock, farming, and building clay bricks. We may even have the opportunity to join in with these locals during their daily activities, such as tasting local beer at a bar or helping a family feed their cows and prepare a meal.

Day 11: Full Day Game-viewing in Ngorongoro Conservancy

Early morning breakfast and depart on a morning game-viewing drive through the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The crater was formed between two and three million years ago, when a volcano exploded and then collapsed into itself; today the crater spans about 100 square miles.

Arrive the escarpment and begin our descent down into the center. As we drive through the crater, we’ll discover the diverse flora and fauna that make up this vast expanse of highland plains, savanna, savanna woodlands, and forests. The crater is home to about 25,000 larger animals, among them Cape buffalo, rhinoceros, wildebeest, zebra, and an especially dense population of lions.

After lunch begin the climb through the cloud forest and out of the crater floor and on to our lodge at Karatu arriving late afternoon and afternoon is free at leisure.

Day 12: Ngorongoro Conservancy | Serengeti National Park

Breakfast and check out. Set out for Serengeti National Park, arguably one of the most famous wildlife-viewing destinations in Africa. Here, masses of wildlife roam the stunning landscape. The Serengeti stretches over 5,700 miles of plains, riverine bush, and acacia woodland, with savanna grassland as the dominant environment.

Enjoy packed lunch boxes with game-viewing drive en route to our overnight lodge. Look out for a wide range of wildlife species that call the Serengeti home. Lion, cheetah, hyena, and jackal stalk herds of gazelle, zebra, wildebeest, and impala. Comical warthogs bend down on their front knees to graze while elegant cheetah rest in the shade of acacia trees after a hunt. Isolated rock groups, called kopjes, provide shelter to lion, leopard, and cheetah—and to the tiny rodent-like hyrax, the closest relative of the elephant.

Day 13 of Kenya & Tanzania safari adventure holiday in East Africa: Serengeti National Park

Early risers are welcome to join our optional Sunrise Safari & Hot Air Balloon Ride this morning. will be rewarded with a predawn game-viewing drive.

Once at the balloon site ascend into the morning sky on a 45-minute hot-air balloon-ride, which offers a new perspective of the Serengeti and the creatures that call it home. Travelers who partake in this experience will rejoin the rest of the group later in the morning to proceed on full day game viewing drive.

Travelers who do not participate on the optional balloon ride will proceed on a morning game-viewing drive after breakfast. Pause at the balloon landing site as optional tour participants join the rest of the group, and we resume our game-viewing until midday. Lunch at the camp and have some time to rest.

Return to the bush late afternoon for an additional two and a half hours of game-viewing. Our drive coincides with the animals’ daily routines—it’s in the early- to mid-afternoon that they resume their activity, so we’ll do the same. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 14: Fly Serengeti National Park to Arusha | Shanga workshop

Breakfast and check out. Depart and drive to Seronera airstrip for our small light aircraft and depart to Arusha. Upon arrival a bus ride to Shanga, a local enterprise that employs people with physical disabilities. In this workshop, our small group will meet with locals, and see how these artisans come together to create unique, artisanal gifts.

Lunch at the hotel. You will have time to freshen up at the hotel before we depart to Kilimanjaro Airport for your flight out.
