11-Day Trekking Holiday in Nepal: Annapurna Base Camp Trek. Itinerary.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu [1345m/4411ft] and Transfer to the Hotel
Location: Kathmandu

Kathmandu Altitude: 1,345 Meters

On the first day of your Annapurna Base Camp trek, you will fly to Nepal from your home country and land at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. Our agents will wait for you at the airport, so you don’t have to worry about being lost or wandering. After you meet with our travel agents, you will move forward to check in to your respective hotels, where you will stay overnight. You will get facilities like an attached bathroom, internet services, 24/7 electric power for charging, and hot showers.

Day 02: Sightseeing Around Kathmandu and Welcome Dinner cum Interaction
Location: Kathmandu

After you arrive at your hotel and stay your first night, you will be called into a meet and greet program the next day. But before attending the program, you will be involved in sightseeing activities around Kathmandu valley.

Kathmandu valley is culturally rich with many destinations, like Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath, Boudhanath, Narayanhiti Palace, Garden of Dreams, Dharahara, and many more. If you are a history geek, you can visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, Bhaktapur Durbar Square, and Patan Durbar Square – these were once the palaces of the Malla Kings who ruled Kathmandu Valley for centuries. You can see many ancient artifacts, antiques, and Royal belongings in these palaces-turned-museums.

After completing your sightseeing tour, you will head for a meet and greet program, where you will be invited to a welcome dinner as well.

Day 03: Fly or Drive to Pokhara (Flight 20 Minutes and Drive 5 hours), Drive two more hours to Sauli Bazaar, and trek to Ghandruk [2,012 m/6363ft]

Ghandruk Altitude: 2,012 Meters

The next day is the third day of your Annapurna Base Camp Trek, and you will drive to the beautiful city of Pokhara from Kathmandu. You will take a bus from the capital city, which will take you to Pokhara through the terraced fields, mountains, and rivers like Trishuli and Marshyangdi.

After nearly 6 to 7 hours of driving, you will reach Pokhara, the city of dreams. Pokhara is a beautiful city with many destinations like Davis Falls, Sarangkot Hill, Mahendra and Chamero Gufa, Phewa, and Begnas Lake. You can also reach Pokhara by flight, which is the fastest way. It only takes 15 to 25 minutes to reach Pokhara Airport.

After you reach Pokhara, you will start your trek to Saulibazaar. You must hike for a couple of hours to reach the spot. And from Sauli Bazaar, you will take another 2 hours of trek to Ghandruk Village, rich in Thakali and Gurung settlements. Ghandruk village is widely acknowledged for its hospitality services, with Thakali Khana set being one of the popular cuisines of Nepal.

You will stay at a guesthouse overnight.

Day 04: Trek to Chhomrong [2340m/7675ft]
Location: Chhomrong

Chhomrong Altitude: 2,340 Meters

Accommodation: Tea House

On the fourth day of your Annapurna Base Camp Trek, you will start a hike from Ghandruk Village to Chhomrong at 2,340 meters (7,675 feet). You will climb uphill from Ghandruk, enjoying the views of mountains like Machhapuchhre, Annapurna, and Dhaulagiri.

You will reach a river in between, and after crossing down the river, you will have to climb uphill again. After following the rugged trail for a few hours, you will reach the beautiful village of Chhomrong. You will have an overnight stay at a tea house in Chhomrong.

Day 05: Trek from Chhomrong to Bamboo [2335m/7658ft]
Location: Bamboo

Bamboo Altitude: 2,335 Meters

It’s the fifth day of your trek to Annapurna Base Camp, and now, your next destination is Bamboo at an altitude of 2,335 meters (7,658 meters). You will start your hike early in the morning after having breakfast through a steep stoned staircase and reach Kuldi first.

From Kuldi, you will follow the trail through the dense Rhododendron forest and climb uphill to reach Sinuwa. You can see the region’s wildlife overview during your trek. One of the beautiful scenes in this area is that you can see Langur (species of Monkey) hanging around the branches of the trees in the forest during this hike phase.

From Sinuwa, you will again hike uphill to reach Bamboo, where you will stay at a teahouse.

Day 06: Trek from Bamboo to Himalaya Hotel [2920m/9577ft]

Himalaya Hotel lies 2,920 meters [9,577 feet], which is your next destination. You will make an early hike from Bamboo on your sixth day of the trek. You will first go down steep to the rocky terrains and climb uphill through the bamboo and rhododendron forest.

After a few hours, you will reach the village of Dobhan, and from there, you will get to the Himalayan Hotel, where you will stay overnight. Himalayan hotel assures all your services, from logistics to food and comfort. So you don’t have to worry about your convenience while accommodating here.

Day 07: Trek from Himalaya Hotel to Annapurna Base Camp [4130m/13546ft] via Machhapuchhre Base Camp [3700m/12136ft]
Location: Annapurna Base Camp

Annapurna Base Camp Altitude: 4,130 Meters

Accommodation: Tea House

This is one of the most exciting parts of the Annapurna Base Camp Trek. On the seventh day, you will reach Annapurna Base Camp at 4,130 meters (13,546 Feet) above sea level via Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3,700 meters).

After a pleasant stay at the Himalayan Hotel, you will pack your things and get ready to take on the final stage of your trek to Annapurna Base Camp. You will first walk through the forested area rich in flora and fauna and reach Machhapuchhre Base Camp. You will see the grazing land for cattle in this area.

From Machhapuchhre Base Camp, you will walk through the glacier bed to Annapurna Base Camp. If you are traveling in the winter season, you should be very cautious around this area since avalanches are possible. Once you reach Annapurna Base Camp, you will be involved in sightseeing activities that include the 360 views of the Annapurna range. You can view spectacular views of Annapurna and its sister peaks, Dhaulagiri, Himchuli, Machhapuchhre, and others. Similarly, the environment here is pleasant so that you can delve into the beautiful nature and clear view of the surrounding places. Remember to snap some pictures for your memory.

Day 08: Trek back to Bamboo (8 hours trek) [2335m/7658 ft]
Location: Bamboo

Bamboo Altitude: 2,335 Meters

Accommodation: Tea House

Once your activity in Annapurna Base Camp is done, you will be prepared to descend to Bamboo. You must walk downhill for around 8 hours to reach Bamboo from the base camp. You will cross Machhapuchhre Base Camp and Doban before reaching your destination.

Once you reach Bamboo, you can rest in a tea house overnight.

Day 09: Trek to Hot Spring (Jhinu Danda Hot Spring) [1610m/5280ft]
Location: Jhinu Danda Hot Spring

Jhinu Danda Hot Spring Altitude: 1,610 Meters

On the ninth day of your trek, you will hike to the natural hot springs at Jhinu Danda – which lies at an altitude of 1,610 meters (5,280 Feet). You will make your way through the rugged trail to Chhomrong, and in between, you can visit the hot springs.

Most trekkers find this place amusing since it provides natural hot water, and getting rid of your sweat and tiredness from a long hike will be the primary focus. You will stay at a teahouse overnight after completing your activities in Jhinu Danda.

Day 10: Trek to Sauli Bazaar (3 hours). Drive back to Pokhara for 2 hours by jeep.
Location: Saulibazaar | Pokhara

Activity: Drive Back To Pokhara

Accommodation: Hotel

On the tenth day, you will trek back to Sauli Bazaar from Jhinu Danda, and it takes around 3 hours to reach the destination. You will start your hike early in the morning and descend downhill through the rough terrains to reach Sauli Bazaar.

After reaching Sauli Bazaar, you will ride back to Pokhara on a jeep, which takes around 2 hours. You will stay at a hotel and can be involved in extra activities like exploring the nightlife of Pokhara. Or you can rest at your hotel.

Day 11: From Today, you are on your own/Travel back to Kathmandu
You will be on your own from the 11th day of your Annapurna Base Camp trek. If you have plans to explore Pokhara city, you can do it or travel back to Kathmandu on a bus, jeep, or plane.

If you have plans to visit places in Pokhara, do not miss White Gumba, Mountain Museums, Boating in Phewa Lake, trekking to Sarangkot, and Davis falls.
