The Bahamas lie in the tropical waters between Florida and Cuba. Made up of over 700 islands and islets, the Bahamas are all about sun, sea and luxury holidays…or are they? Anywhere as beautiful as the Bahamas deserves to be seen from the air…as anyone who has done will tell you.
On a Bahamas paragliding trip, you’ll get to soar over the country’s gorgeous islands and deep blue waters. It can be difficult to get a perspective on this nation from the ground, strung out as it is over the ocean. But from the air, you can get to grips with the country.
The Bahamas is a largely flat nation, whose people tend to focus outwards to the sea, rather than inwards to the land. The country’s highest point is Mount Alvernia, which stands at just 63 metres above sea level. The Bahamas is not the place to go if you want to fly over deep valleys. It has a different appeal: that of flying over calm blue seas and jaw-droppingly beautiful beaches. It’s a great place to fly over the water, with so much to see everywhere you look.
The Bahamas suffers from hurricanes from June to November, so travel outside those months if you want to fly. The main rainy season lasts from May to October, although you will see some rain most of the year on the islands.
A Bahamas paragliding trip is a great opportunity to get up in the air and try flying for the first time, or to practice your skills. It’s also one of the best places in the world to combine paragliding with a luxury beach holiday!
