This spectacular experience combines a kayaking adventure with a whale watching adventure to offer you the best opportunity for wildlife encounters and a truly memorable experience taking you deep into some of the most sparsely inhabited coastal regions of British Columbia.
Your half day kayaking adventure begins here under the watchful eye of your professional guide you will explore remote channels, inlets and bays that would normally be inaccessible in a single days paddle. These remote locations are rich in marine mammals, birds and intertidal life. There is every chance you will be kayaking with whales!
The other half of your day is an exciting Whale Watching & Wildlife adventure aboard a purpose built vessel “Wild 1”. A comfortable 12 passenger boat that features a heated cabin with onboard washroom, large back deck and open top viewing deck ensuring great wildlife viewing for everyone onboard.
On this 8-9 hour adventure you will journey through areas renowned for their beauty and abundant wildlife. It is an amazing experience where you will be at one with nature and maximize your chances of seeing Humpback Whales, Orca, Porpoises, White-Sided Dolphins, Seals, Sea-Lions, Bears and other wildlife.

Itinerary for the Vancouver Island kayaking tour: whale watching in Campbell River.
Your journey begins at the Campbell River Whale Watching & Adventure Tours Floathouse. This is where you check-in no less than 30 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time. On arrival you can expect a safe and genuinely friendly, fun and inclusive environment.
A Pre-boarding welcome & safety briefing during which your Captain and kayak guide will give you an overview of the general area you will be travelling through and exploring and the marine mammals that you may encounter.
Once underway you will make your way along pristine coastlines, protected calm channels and narrow passages of water between the Discovery Islands to a remote location that would be inaccessible in a full days paddle. Here, you will enjoy 3 hours kayaking under the watchful eye of your certified kayak guide as you explore the coastline and paddle into hidden bays teeming with inter tidal and marine life. It’s an environment known to attract whales keeping everyone on the lookout for the sound or sight of a blow.
Returning to the boat you will enjoy a locally sourced picnic style lunch with homemade treats, hot beverages and water.
After lunch you will continue your adventure and go in search of more wildlife, seeking out humpback whales, orca and other marine mammals. The beautiful scenery captivating you almost as much as the wildlife you encounter.
Your Captain is also a trained naturalist so you can expect to enjoy regular fun and informative nature interpretation throughout your day of adventure.
And Yes – there is an onboard washroom!
