Private 2.5 hour Post-Work SUP in London -with pub stop - for couples or small groups of up to 6.
Private 2.5 hour Richmond paddleboard experience – for couples or small groups of up to 6.
Let the stress of the working week float away as we take you on an evening paddleboard adventure with a chilled out stop for a drink. Richmond is an absolutely idyllic and very safe location for stand-up paddleboarding, and you’ll be paddling on one of the most beautiful stretches of the Thames. This 2.5 hour session – Post-Work SUP in London -is open to both beginners and more experienced paddlers.
After a short briefing on paddle safety and technique we’ll head out onto the river. Depending on tide and conditions we will either head upriver towards Eel Pie Island and Teddington, or downstream towards Isleworth and Kew Gardens. We’ll stop for a relaxing drink at a beautiful riverside pub, and then enjoy the gentle paddle back to our base near Richmond Bridge. From there you can continue your evening in Richmond, or you can head home, feeling refreshed and ready for the weekend.
Cancellation and Bad Weather
Book with confidence – we offer a 100% money back guarantee in the event that the session cannot run due to Covid-19 restrictions. Please see our Cancellation Policy for details on cancelling or rescheduling your session for other reasons.
Occasionally, due to bad weather (high winds or poor visibility), instructor availability or low booking numbers, we may need to cancel your paddleboard session. We will always endeavour to contact you as soon as we are able to discuss the options with you.
Your Richmond paddleboard experience will start with a safety briefing and some land-based training on the riverbank or our pontoon near Richmond Bridge. This typically takes 15-20 minutes depending on group size.
We will then head out onto the river on our trip to the pub, either upstream towards Eel Pie Island and Teddington or downstream towards Isleworth, Kew Gardens and Chiswick, depending on the tide.
lease arrive wearing the clothes you intend to paddle in as we have very limited space to get changed.
We have a safe storage space for your bags and valuables. Toilets are only available in local cafes or pubs, with pretty limited access at the moment, so please plan ahead!
Also, please bring your own hand-sanitiser if possible, and we ask you to observe the social distancing requirements at all times.
No specialist clothing is required, but no jeans or cotton please, as cotton gets very cold when wet. In warm weather, swimwear or ordinary quick drying gym gear will be fine (shorts/leggings/T-shirt/fleece).
We usually paddle barefoot on these Post-Work SUP sessions, but please bring some water shoes, or old sandals, flip flops or trainers that you don't mind getting wet to take with you for when we stop during the session.
If it’s sunny please bring an old baseball hat and sun cream.
In colder weather (November - March), wearing a wetsuit would be advisable. We have wetsuits available if requested in advance, or bring your own. Also, please bring extra layers, a towel and a change of clothes just in case you take a little dip during the lesson.
You may also want to bring a small dry bag for spare waterproof/warm clothing, money, any medications you may need and your phone in a waterproof pouch. If you are worried about losing sunglasses please use a sunglasses strap!
Buoyancy aids are provided and are compulsory on all our sessions.
*The distance actually covered during your Richmond paddleboard experience will depend on conditions on the day.
