Mikumi National Park is the fourth largest park in Tanzania covering an area of 3,230 sq kms (1,225 sq miles). It lies to the west of Dar es Salaam and is easily accessed from the city being on the main Mororgoro and Iringa road and is an easy 4 hour drive from Dar es Salaam. The main road runs through the park.
Located between the Mountains Uluguru and the Lumango range, the Park has a wide variety of wildlife that is easy to spot and well acclimatised to game viewing.

After picking you up from your hotel, you will depart from the airport at 07:00hrs to arrive to Mikumi in one hours time. You will immediately start your game search.
At 12:30hrs you will break for lunch. HotLunch is served with a soft drink in a restaurant in the park.
Mostly spotted are the ‘Big Five’ (cheetah, lion, elephant, buffalo, and rhino), and the Hippo pools provide close access to the mud-loving beasts, and bird-watching along the waterways is particularly rewarding.
Mikumi National Park borders the Selous Game Reserve and Udzungwa National Park, and the three locations make a varied and pleasant safari circuit.
Afternoon game drive will be done as you drive back to the airstrip for your flight back to Zanzibar.
