The tour is seasonal – from December to March. We require at least 2 participants. This tour operates in all weather conditions, please dress appropriately. Minimum age of passengers is 10. This tour is not recommended for participants with heart complaints or other serious medical conditions. A certain amount of walking is involved. This tour is a great opportunity for all those of you who are photo enthusiasts, so do not forget to bring your cameras along!
Put on your snowshoes and get ready for a relaxing walk into the wilderness! This tour will allow to head deep into the Arctic nature and discover a bit more of the secrets of Lapland. With your professional guide, you will snowshoe through old forests, along frozen rivers or lakes, or up to a hilltop, looking for wildlife and steps left in the snow. You may have the chance of passing tracks made by wolves, lynx, wolverines, moose, reindeer, weasels, Arctic hare...
The Lapland snowshoeing day trip in Rovaniemi, Finland will be adapted to the level of the group so that it is suitable for everyone, from the very beginners to the good hikers. As you will explore the white scenery, you will certainly feel the peaceful harmony of Lapland. Refreshments and a typical Finnish barbecue snack will be provided halfway, as your guide will make a fire to keep you warm. This is a great opportunity for your guide to show you how to build a fire as native do. No need for matches or lighter, your guide will use a flint & steel and natural materials you can find in the nature that surrounds you (this can be done in conditions as cold as -30°C!). This break around the open fire will be also the perfect convivial moment for your guide to answer all your questions about Lapland and life in the Arctic.
