The primary focus of this guided Johannesburg nature walk is to experience the ‘bush’ (natural environment) in what we’d describe as ‘adventure hiking’, i.e. to enjoy nature at its fullest while you enjoy your favourite outdoor pursuit without having to stress about routes, safety, drinking water etc.
The tour is best suitable to novice to intermediate hikers, or advanced hikers who are content with a relaxed hike (1-2 hours, depending fitness) while smelling the roses. We provide drinking water, and coffee or soft drink after the hike.
'If I have a half day to check out the local nature close-up, where can I go that's best and safest?' I'll book some bush walking in South Africa, hand-picked for me by the Choice Tours guides, suited to my fitness level'.
After pick up from their hotel, the guided Johannesburg nature walk participants are transferred to one of a small selection of the best hiking spots, 45-75 minutes away. Once arrived and, after a thorough route, protocol and safety briefing, the group starts out on its 1-2 hour adventure hike, covering a variety of attractive terrain and forest/ grassland.
The leader/guide keeps the group in a loose bunch without interfering with the relaxed nature experience and wildlife sightings. Once back at base, hikers have the opportunity to share stories and pictures taken while on the hike, over a coffee or drink, either at the park itself or on-the-way back to the hotel.
