Join us for day long walks to explore the best of what Wales has to offer. Wales is one of the best locations for guided walking in the UK.
Wales Outdoors is for those who would like to take part in walking and adventuring in Wales and walking holidays to places like Scotland, Tenerife and Iceland. We offer up a range of day-long walks of varying distances and so hope to cover most levels of ability/fitness. We guarantee a minimum of two walks per week and try to cover each and every Saturday and Sunday throughout the year.
IMPORTANT TO KNOW! You can walk with Wales Outdoors on each and every walk we deliver for just £25 a month and no extra charge
Wales Outdoors is all about physical and mental wellbeing and with this in mind we aim to get people outdoors and walking and socialising.
We encourage the development of interest in the hills and mountains of Wales. We facilitate our members to build their skills and to get out on their own or to look to us for guided adventures in the UK and abroad.
This group is a social group, meeting up for tall tales and a few beers/food every now and again and these social gatherings will always be the starting point for this group’s development.
Wales Outdoors provides an active and varied programme of guided walks across Wales and sometimes further afield. We guarantee two walks every weekend but often have many more than this scheduled into our calendar of events.
Half Day
We have a range of shorter or beginner walks, so from about four miles in total and often about three hours long, so a half day. Think of Penarth to Lavernock or a Four Waterfall Walk. We offer a few shorter walks each month and these as a response to requests for walks that aren’t as tiring as, for example, our Eight Waterfalls Walk. These shorter walks are also good for younger walkers.
Day Long
Generally these walks are those that are between six and twenty miles in total and are generally moderate but there are some strenuous and some easy walks in there. We don’t grade the walks but we do list total distance and height gained. Think the Eight Waterfalls and Pen y Fan for sunset or any day coastal walk.
Children
EVERY half term, at Easter and at the beginning of the summer school break we offer one or two walks for Parents and Kids. These walks are for all ages and are designed with plenty of interest along the way. Andy also brings along some games to keep levels of engagement high. We are also delivering Home Ed kids socialisation days. Look out for those during term time.
If In Doubt
Do contact Andy for clarification or more detail about a particular route or to discuss your level of fitness and suitability to a walk
Why not dip your toe into a wild camping weekend or a short walking or wellbeing residential?
