This Family Friendly Rafting Adventure on the Kicking Horse River, Canada is suitable for everyone. Nervous rafters, families with young kids, or guests who’d like to sit back, relax and take in the mountain scenery. You’ll be floating through the Canadian Rocky Mountains, surrounded by big jagged peaks.
This trip is a fast paced float, so it does have some small rapids and splashy sections, but it’s not a getting soaked kind of trip. No experience is required and we can take kids as young as 4 years old (and at least 30 lbs).
You’ll raft roughly 14 km before getting to our riverside BBQ lunch spot. Choose from a hamburger, veggie burger, chicken burger or smokie (a big hot dog), along with various salads and sides.
It’s a great introduction to rafting and will give you a taste of what the Kicking Horse River is all about.
Family Friendly Rafting on the Kicking Horse River, Canada: Itinerary
This trip rafts daily from mid May to mid September. It starts at 9:15 am and returns to our base around 1:00 pm. We ask that you arrive around 9:00 am so we have time to check you in.
You'll start your day with an intro briefing at our base and then our bus will shuttle you to the river. You start by rafting the calm upper canyon of the Kicking Horse River. This 14 km stretch has a few splashes, but it's not a getting soaked, whitewater kind of trip. We stop to do a short walk up to a beautiful waterfall and there's a chance to hop in the river for a swim. After rafting you'll enjoy a riverside BBQ lunch before hopping on our bus to head back to our rafting base. You'll receive a digital link to view all of your photos and videos at the end of your trip. We have a professional photographer and the guides wear GoPros to capture the action of your day, and they're available to purchase.
