What does a tour look like? This trip begins in the sheltered picturesque harbour of Totnes at steamer quay. Where we’ll have a chance to practice some basic canoeing skills before we venture out into Dart Estuary or travel up river depending on the tide times and the weather conditions, this will be briefed to you by are qualified guide that will make the best trip for you with the conditions.
Journeying on the river for an hour or so before pulling up for a drink and some sustenance (Bring your own picnic). Depending on the stretch of water we will be paddling on we might have the pleasure of seeing seals and lots of wildlife, the locations in Devon also has kingfishers and lots of sea birds to spot on your adventure.

Once you’re signed in and have been fitted with your equipment, boat, paddle and buoyancy aid, you’ll be given a full safety briefing and explanation of how to manoeuvre your boat. Then it’s time to hit the water and get stuck in. Some locations even have small games to test your skills.
COVID NOTES: Canoeing outside in open spaces with social distancing means the risk of infection from Covid is deemed to be exceptionally low. To be extra safe we are asking customers to respect social distancing whilst on the river bank and on the water.
You will only share a canoe with those you have booked with and will not be asked to share a canoe with anyone not in your family unit or 'bubble'. Because of this we cannot take bookings for single people as the canoes need 2 or 3 people to paddle them.
Your canoe paddle and buoyancy aid will have been cleaned after every use.
Please clean your hands on arrival with the hand-sanitizer provided.
Please Do not touch any of the equipment until you have done this.

All rescues if needed will be done in a Covid safe way with the staff using a face covering and using space to keep us away from each other as much as possible.
