Welcome to the Lofoten Islands Sea Kayak Expedition, a kayak more tomorrow Inn to Inn adventure above the Arctic Circle. In the late 1990’s one of the world’s leading sea kayak pioneers and trip designers established the first commercial sea kayaking trips along Norway’s spectacular coastline. The Lofoten Islands were chosen because of their surreal location and the fact that they boast Norway’s best sea kayaking venue. These majestic Islands were the perfect place to introduce Norway to adventure travelers; now 10 years later this trip has become a classic in international sea kayaking destinations.
kayak more tomorrow is proud to be the sole provider of these original epic adventures created by Jonathan Bendiksen.
The Lofoten Islands Sea Kayak Expedition is an outstanding journey through a magical land of contrasts. It encompasses a distance of 100 -130km with an average paddling duration of 4 – 6 hours per day, not including breaks.
On this expedition we stay in choice rorbuer – fishermen’s cabins; here participants will live in the same fashion as fishermen of past centuries. Our guides prepare and serve both breakfast and lunch; while for supper we will enjoy local specialities at some of the best restaurants in the Lofoten Islands.
The Lofoten Islands are a chain of spectacular islands above the Arctic Circle; where jagged peaks embedded in the sea and the sounds of the Moskenes maelstrom, one of the world’s strongest ocean currents tell Viking sagas and legends of the seafaring people. Where idyllic islands look out on the open sea and white sand beaches meet the grassy flatlands you can still hear the sound of fishermen rowing wooden boats.
It is amidst this dramatic, seemingly painted, backdrop of glacier carved granite that we’ll paddle into fishing villages and lodge in choice sea houses built on century old wharves.
