Would you like to explore one of the world’s most iconic mountains on a multi-day hiking adventure? You can do just that with our deal of the week! During this four day trekking tour of Mont Blanc you hike from Italy to France enjoying some of the best views in Europe.
The full Tour de Mont Blanc is one of the best treks in Europe. The full route takes 10 to 12 days which is more time than many people can afford. So this four day shortened version by White Marmotte takes on the best section. While shorter it is still very challenging with spectacular views.
You’ll spend up to nine hours a day on your feet, climbing up to 1,100 metres a day. The tour starts in Courmayeur, Italy and finishes in Les Houches, France. You’ll spend four days on the trail with three nights’ accommodation in mountain refuges included.
Your breakfasts and dinners are part of the package, with a picnic lunch provided on the first day. Remaining lunches will be available at mountain restaurants. Alternatively, packed lunches can be purchased at the accommodation each morning.
The four day trekking tour of Mont Blanc has groups of four to ten people. You’ll need a medium level of physical fitness and ability. Tours are timed to start with an early transfer from Geneva airport on day one and shared return transfers will be provided at the end.
During the tour, you’ll be treated to stunning views of imposing granite peaks and ridges. You’ll also traverse beautiful valleys such as the Montjoie and pass through picturesque mountain towns including Les Contamines.
This four day tour of Mont Blanc takes place during the summer. So you’ll walk through idyllic meadows and brilliant green mountain pastures.
You’ll be on the trail all day and staying in mountain refuges at night. So it’s best to travel as light as possible. Food and water can be picked up along the route, which makes packing a little easier.
A 30-litre rucksack is usually big enough. You’ll need to bring waterproofs, a warm jacket, base layers and long sleeve tops. Some people prefer to walk in shorts, and this is generally possible, but it’s advisable to bring trousers too.
Underwear and socks for four days are required, as is a sleeping bag liner and travel towel. Required accessories include sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, as well as any toiletries and medication you require.
You’ll need a reasonable level of fitness to tackle four days hiking in the Alps. If you have no experience of mountain walking, it is a good idea to do some training to get in shape for your trek before you travel.
