This Nusa Penida Stress and Rescue Diver course in Indonesia combines the SSI Diver Stress & Rescue with the SSI React Right program (optional if you holding a valid & renewed Emergency First Responder certificate).
It is an important step in expanding your knowledge and experience as a diver. Stress & Rescue Diver (or equivalent) certification is also a prerequisite for all leadership programs. This course is taught through academic sessions, personal study, pool & open water practice. It covers:
Definition of stress, its causes & how to prevent it in diving. Detecting and dealing with stress. Accident management. Skills needed to deal with panic & rescues. Conditions that complicate rescues.
Skills practice starts in our swimming pool and continues in the open sea. It includes:
Self-rescue & diving first aid. Emergency management and equipment considerations. Swimming, non swimming assists, panicked diver response & underwater problem solving. Missing diver procedures. Surfacing an unconscious diver & in-water artificial respiration. Egress (exits). First aid procedures for pressure related accidents. Dive accident scenarios.
Plan for the Nusa Penida Stress and Rescue Diver course in Indonesia:
Once you have booked we will give you access to the online pedagogical material so you can start the self study session and answer each of the chapter's knowledge reviews.
Upon arrival we will want you to check in, ideally the night before:
-You will have to fill the mandatory paper work.
-We will make you try the SCUBA gear on.
-And we will give you the exact schedule for the following days.
The following morning will start with a first academic session were we will present:
-The risks associated with SCUBA diving and how to avoid them.
-The different features of the SCUBA gear you will be using.
-An in depth explanation of the skills required of rescue diver and their values.
You will then be ready to start the confined water training session(s) in our natural pool.
This confined water can be split in two, to fit your learning abilities and it will be followed by 3 to 4 open water dives to further practice your skills.
The course is concluded by a final exam (multiple choice questionnaire) and the digital certificate will be issued to you upon completion of the course.
