During the confined water (lagoon) dives you learn and master the dive skills: you gain the necessary knowledge by self-studying the manual or going through the reading material online. You apply the skills and the knowledge during your open water (ocean) dives.
Throughout the Maldives Open Water Diver Course in Baa Atoll Biosphere Reserve you complete 5 confined water dives, go over 5 knowledge development chapters and make 4 open water dives. Experience the greatest adventure there is.
You need to be in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water. To join the Maldives Open Water Diver Course in Baa Atoll Biosphere Reserve, you need to be older than 14 years. 10 to 14 year olds can take part in the Junior Open Water Diver Course.
The course is performance based. The duration depends on how comfortable you are with diving and you proceed as you demonstrate mastery of the course skills. This allows you to work at a pace that is comfortable for you. Usually, it can be done completed in 4-5 days.
You can continue your diving adventure by taking the Advanced Adventurer course so that you can pick up some more skills and knowledge to get more out of diving. If you have some specific area of interest in diving that you would like to explore you can do a Specialty Diver Course in that field.
