Wing-Foiling is the new kid on the block, with a little toe in most of our other sports, including SUPing, kitesurfing and foiling. Ridiculed by some … until they tried it for themselves, wing foiling opens new and exciting avenues, getting people foil surfing more easily and riding lumps of swell long before waves have even contemplated breaking.

This new sport is fast moving and we’ve got the dream location to get you flying with a wing super quickly. Come try it for yourself on this Dorset wing foiling taster course to understand exactly what the hype is all about.

Being such a new sport, there is no National Governing Body (NGB) established yet. But having been wing foiling for some time, the OTC team naturally developed our own operating procedures to get clients up and winging in no time.

Two hours is more than enough for most initially to learn to wing foil in Portland Harbour. And despite many thinking their arms would be wrenched out, it is actually very balanced and easy to control the wing. And as with all things, a few golden tips make all the difference.

What to expect

This 2 hour Dorset wing foiling taster course is your basic introduction to wing foiling. It takes you through the process of getting on the board and controlling the wing, to progressing down board size and the introduction of a foil.

Taught either from a RIB in the harbour, or by an instructor afloat with you, the use of our BBTalkin' headsets allows us to provide tuition in a calm and measured manner. The boards used vary from a large floaty board with a centre-board, to a SUP without a foil, and finally onto a fully foiling platform.

And with flat water being our domain, and plenty of the latest kit from all the pioneering brands at our disposal, we'll get you 'winging it' in no time.

The price of £75.00 per person is based on a ratio of at least 2:1 (student to instructor) and a maximum of 4:1, but if the session is one-to-one, there is a supplement of £24.00 to pay.
