The Discover Scuba Diving experience in Key Largo is a great program for anyone 10 years of age and up! Learn to Scuba Dive in Florida.
After learning a few basic skills in the pool first in the morning you will actually get to scuba dive in the open ocean on our fantastic coral reef here in the Florida Keys.
No prior scuba experience or certification is required. As long as you can swim and you are fit to scuba dive you can participate in the course!
Scuba diving is the number one activity in Key Largo, and this course is a great way to literally dive into the local lifestyle and spend a day out on the water with us, experiencing the colorful coral and reef fish out there.
The Discover Scuba Diving experience in Key Largo starts with classes start at 8am. You will get a brief classroom session before you head out to the pool site for the rest of the morning, where you will don scuba gear and your instructor will teach you a few skills.
Then, after a lunch break, you and your instructor will go out to the coral reef on a dive charter boat, and you will do two dives at different locations on the reef! The program typically is concluded at around 5 pm.
The dive depth will be an average of 25 feet or less, and you will get to see some pretty cool stuff since our coral reefs are teeming with fish and marine wildlife! There is even a good chance to see a turtle, stingrays, moray eels, or even a shark or two, depending on which one of these guys feel like passing by to “say hello”.
Scuba-Fun offers the Discover Scuba Diving program daily. The number of participants per instructor is no more than four students, so please make sure to reserve your spots in the program ahead of time! Of course, this program is also available for parties with a greater number of participants!
In order to participate in this program, you must be 10 years or older and pass a medical questionnaire, which means being able to answer “no” to all questions therein or else have a doctor’s release stating that you are fit to scuba dive. You also must know how to swim in water too deep to stand up in.
