The Open Water course teaches you everything from how to assemble, put on, and use your dive gear, to how to safely explore the underwater world. Diving to a maximum depth of 60 ft (18 m), your course will consist of classroom study, confined dives in a swimming pool or shallow water, and 4 open water dives.
Caye Caulker Marine Reserve PADI Open Water Course in Belize: Itinerary
Day 1 - meet your instructor and go through the plan for the course. Spend some time going through the skills you will complete during the course and explaining the basics of scuba diving. Complete your confined open water dives and first two open water dives in shallow water in the Caye Caulker Marine Reserve.
Day 2 - complete the second two open water dives and a review with your instructor. This will be completed either at our local reef or where our trip for the day is going if we have space on the boat.
There is also an e-learning component which you can complete before arriving consisting of videos, theory, and an exam.
