When it comes to the best men’s underwear for all-day comfort, it’s hard to beat the benefits of active underwear. A few years ago I comprehensively tested 31 pairs, so I am somewhat of an undies expert. I recently tested some new underwear options. So I am more qualified than most to talk about the top guys underpants for everyday comfort.
Six years ago I ran a comprehensive review of active underwear that included various tests and scoring etc. What I discovered is that underwear designed for sport and adventure provides a winning combination of all day comfort, support and flexibility.
Ever worn some lovely cotton boxers on a hot sweaty day, spent a day walking around a city or got involved in impromptu extreme sports or outdoor activities? Then you’ll have experienced damp underpants as sweat fails to escape your cottons. Leaving you at best uncomfortable at worse very sore.
Alternatively, sports underwear has moisture-wicking capabilities to keep you dry and comfortable throughout the day. They also feature more breathable materials that help maintain optimal body temperature, which is especially important for guys on the go.
On top of this active underwear offer superior support and a snug fit, often with longer trunk legs. This prevents ruckage and chafing, ensuring maximum comfort while helping to keep your junk in place if you get really active. It’s worth noting that some sports underwear is too supportive to be top guys underpants for everyday comfort.
In addition active underwear is generally more durable than regular underpants. A pair of 100% cotton boxers just won’t last as long as those underpants built to survive sports. They also have other benefits, such as antimicrobial finishes, ball pouches and more which help make them the best men’s underwear.
There are some disadvantages too. They are generally more expensive to buy and they can look like sports clothing rather than something attractive… That said most of the best men’s underwear below looks good as well as having all of the benefits of active undies.
When it comes to finding the perfect pair of guys’ underpants for all-day comfort, active underwear is undoubtedly the way to go. So below are 10 of the best men’s underwear. I have included five new underpants that I have recently tested, plus the top five underwear (or at least the current equivalent) that I tested in 2017 .
All of the below underwear has been tested in the last few months. I have been for a run, a long walk and done various exercises to test whether they ruck, chafe or get damp and sweaty.
I recently tried the Falke Men’s Boxer Climate Control, and they are some of the best everyday underwear for men that are not sport focussed. What sets them apart is their excellent breathability and thermo-regulation. So they are ideal for guys looking for underpants that offer all-day comfort.
Plus the seamless construction of these boxer shorts is excellent, I found it prevents chafing and irritation no matter what activities I get involved in. The lightweight fabric and ergonomic fit provide some support without restriction, which is a significant advantage when it comes to daily wear.
In conclusion, the Falke Men’s Boxer Climate Control has quickly become my go-to everyday underwear. This is due to their top-notch performance and comfort.

The Reebok Ainslie Sport Trunk are, as the name implies, sports underwear. But they’re a fantastic option for anyone searching for the best everyday underwear for men. They look stylish and provide all-day comfort, while they are supportive enough underwear for sports, without being tight.
The Reebok Ainslie Pants come in a pack of three – black, white, and grey marl. I found the soft, stretchy fabric to be incredibly comfortable on my skin, and the elastic waistband holds them in place without any digging or discomfort.
One thing I love about these underpants is their moisture-wicking capabilities, which helped me stay dry and comfortable when out for a run. Overall, the Reebok Ainslie Sport Trunks offer a great combination of style, support, and comfort. All of which make them perfect as guys’ underpants for all-day comfort.

I found the DKNY Performance Sports Trunks to be some of the best everyday underwear for men that combine sport features and a funky look. These boxer shorts offer a comfortable and supportive fit, which is perfect for guys who live an active lifestyle and require underpants that can keep up.
What I like best about the DKNY Performance Sports Trunk is their soft and breathable fabric, which keeps me comfortable throughout the day. The snug fit and elastic waistband provided excellent support without feeling restrictive.
In terms of performance, the DKNY Performance Sports Trunks breathability and moisture-wicking kept me cool and dry during a run. On the downside the legs are quite short which can lead to slight ruckage so the odd bit of adjustment was required.
The 3-pack, in red, blue and purple provide a brash look – not all undies need to be dull – at great value. Overall, I highly recommend these trunks for anyone who prioritizes style, comfort, and performance when it comes to everyday men’s underwear.

I recently tried the WAMA Hemp Boxer Briefs which were the least sporting ones during this test. But I still really liked them due to the very long legs. I was also impressed with the blend of comfort and sustainability these long boxers provide.
Made from eco-friendly hemp fabric, they are not only soft and comfortable but also provide good breathability. One thing I particularly enjoyed was the natural anti-odor properties, which kept me fresh throughout the day. The ethical manufacturing and PETA-approved vegan certification are an added bonus.
The fit of the WAMA Hemp Boxer Briefs is not as snug as the others on this list. But they offer gentle support without feeling at all restrictive. On the downside, they are not moisture wicking. So when I got sweaty they became damper than the other top guys underpants for everyday comfort. So not the best for sports, but they’re not designed for that.

I recently got my hands on a 2-Pack of Falke Men’s Boxer Daily Comfort. As the only mainly cotton undies in this list of the best men’s underwear I was pleasantly surprised by how good they are when active. The Egyptian cotton and spandex fabric is soft and comfortable, as to be expected.
So these boxers are possibly the best everyday underwear for men who don’t want sport style undies. They are not hugely supportive but everything stays in place without feeling tight or restrictive. The slight stretch and flat seams limits chaffage and the legs never rucked up.
On the downside the cotton got damp from sweat when I went running in them. So I imagine the same would happen if you walked around a city all day in the heat of summer. But if you are looking for non-sport everyday underwear they don’t come much more comfortable on the skin than these.

Below are the top five men’s underpants from my testing back in 2017. These have been my go to underwear for six years and have been worn every week or two. They are the best guys underpants for everyday comfort, purely because for six years they have been worn for sport, adventure travel and everyday life.
The Saxx Kinetic Boxer topped my original review of active underwear. They are still in excellent condition and have hardly aged compared to some of the others. I wear them and four other pairs of Saxx underwear, all the time. They all look good, feel great and are perfect for everyday wear while suiting an active lifestyle.
The innovative design with the patented BallPark Pouch offers excellent support without feeling tight or restrictive. It also prevents skin-to-skin contact between your balls and legs for ultimate comfort. The moisture-wicking fabric keeps you dry and comfortable throughout the day, while the breathable mesh maximises airflow.
The flat-out seams and anti-fold waistband ensure that there is no bunching or pinching. And the quick-drying material makes them perfect for running and other strenuous activities. In my opinion these are the best men’s underwear, but you get what you pay for.

The Bjorn Borg Performance Boxers are excellent. They provide a comfortable and supportive fit for sports without being too tight for daily wear. The material is moisture wicking and breathable and they came third in my review of the best sport boxer shorts.
Soft, comfortable and stretchy the fabric moves with your body, ensuring all-day comfort. The flatlock seams and elastic waistband ensure a snug and secure fit, without causing any discomfort or chafing.
On the downside they show more signs of wear than the other underpants from 2017, with the gusset getting noticeably thin. For the last year or two each time I have worn them I have thought it might be the last, but they keep going and remain comfortable. The 3-pack offers added value, making them an affordable investment for everyday wear.

During the original review I crowned these the best value sports underwear and they topped the active men’s long boxer category. They provide a comfortable and supportive fit, making them perfect for active guys who need underpants that can keep up with their lifestyle. And these days they have some funky styles.
The stretchy fabric of the Jockey Sport Boxer Trunk ensures means they don’t feel too tight. Although over the six years these pants have lost some of the supportivness and are a bit out of shape. But the flatlock seams and wide waistband prevent chafing and the long legs stop bunching and ruckage.
The Jockey Sport Boxer Trunk also features moisture-wicking technology that keeps you dry and comfortable and they’ve been my go to running underwear. Additionally, the antimicrobial finish helps prevent odors, keeping you feeling fresh and confident throughout the day.

The Bawbags Cool De Sacs Technical Boxer Shorts came second in my original review and where the top performing British brand. They are one of the most comfortable and fun styled boxer shorts with plenty of cool designs.
The moisture-wicking fabric keeps you dry and comfortable whatever activity you do. While the 4-way stretch provides ample room for movement, while still being supportive. The breathable mesh panel provides optimal ventilation and helps regulate temperature, ensuring you stay comfortable and cool all day long.
Again flatlock seams and an elastic waistband ensure a comfort and eradicates rubbing or chafing. They ended up not being go to sports underwear for me, but were one of my top guys underpants for everyday comfort for the style-conscious. They have also lasted better than most underpants would after weekly wear for six years.

Last but not least in this list of the best men’s underwear is the New Balance Men’s 6 Inch Ultra Boxer Brief. These boxers came second in the long boxer category and are very much sports underpants. That said they provide a very comfortable fit all day long and after six years have kept their shape well.
They feature a lightweight and stretchy fabric that moves with your body for optimal comfort and support. The breathable mesh panel provides added ventilation, which is great for workouts etc.
In terms of performance, the moisture-wicking technology keeps you dry and comfortable, making them perfect for strenuous activities. The antimicrobial finish prevents odors, keeping you feeling fresh and confident throughout the day.
