The most charming ski resort in France
The traditional Savoyard town of Megève is still occupied by many of the original families such as the Perinets and Grossets yet has all the amenities of a modern ski resort. The centre of Megève is pedestrianised around a beautiful 13th century church, with cobbled narrow streets to explore offering a great variety of high end boutiques, delicatessens, bars and restaurants.
Megève has been a hidden gem for the French, however more overseas visitors are starting to discover its charms and fall in love with the ski resort! There are no huge hotels and the resort does not cater for the mass market. Meaning the Rond Point is the perfect Ski accommodation in Megève,

The Megève ski area is one of the largest in France, with a variety of ski runs to suit all abilities from hard core powder hounds at Mont Joly or Cote 2000 to picturesque long blue and red runs through the snow laden trees (see the skiing) all with amazing views of Mont Blanc to admire. There are plenty of mountain restaurants (see price guides) to ease tired legs and sip a vin chaud.
...and one of the best resorts if you don't ski
Megève is also great for non-skiers. There is a special 'walkers' lift pass to allow you to meet the skiers in your party for lunch. There are marked paths on the mountain for walking, an outdoor and indoor skating rink and a well-equipped leisure centre with indoor swimming pool, sauna, tennis courts and climbing wall. For those of you who enjoy a little pampering there are a range of spas and beauty clinics. For further information download our guide for non-skiers. For those interested in architecture, the original chalet was designed here by Henri Le Meme, who lived and worked in Megève for 30 years and built more that 40 chalets
